Mobile Robot Movement

This section explains the various methods for controlling different types of Mobile Robots currently supported by Extend Robotics AMAS.

For controlling the mobile robot, users can either use the virtual joystick or the physical joysticks.

The physical joysticks are currently only supported for the meta quest series controllers

The control inputs are intuitively mapped as to provide actuation in particular axis of motion, which allows for a uniform control scheme across all the supported mobile robots.

Depending on the complexity of the drive system, the robots can locomote using a combination of linear and angular motion. More details regarding how the control inputs are mapped to the motion can be found in the controller's detail page listed below.
